What is a PTO or power take off shaft and what does it have to do with personal injury work? Actually I’ve had this question asked of me before and I was hoping to never see it again. But here it is staring me in the face once again. A power take-off (PTO) is a spined driveshaft, usually on a tractor or truck which can be used to provide power to an attachment or separate machine. It is designed to be easily connected and disconnected. The power take-off allows implements to draw energy from the tractor's engine.

Field Tile Collapse - Another Danger in Farming

A Joice, Iowa man was trapped under the dirt that caved in from the drainage tile trench he’d dug in a bean field. As of this writing there are few details about the incident. Not even the man’s name had been released. There is no indication of whether he was working alone or with a helper. He was 79-years-old and the accident occurred in Worth County. Shoring up the sides of a trench a necessary part of trench work safety.
