A crash occurred in Palo Alto County on December 26, 2012 - Facts: Mr. Robert Klepper, 72 of West Bend, Iowa was fatally injured while driving a 2006 Ford XPL SUV after crashing at 2nd Street S. Westbend North Drive of High School. The trooper’s description (above) indicates his car left the roadway, crashed into a pole and some other improvements. It doesn’t look like he rolled, and it appears the impact with the utility pole along with his not wearing a seat belt and shoulder harness may have contributed to the severity of his injuries. A crash occurred in Webster County on December 21, 2012 – This Webster County car accident involved two cars and it appears four people were injured or killed. The northbound car (vehicle 1) crossed the center line on P-56 where it crashed head-on with the second car traveling southbound. The officer’s description doesn’t add much so we can’t really know the cause. The time of the collision, 6:41 PM doesn’t add anything unusual about the facts. The driver of the 2002 GMC SRA Pickup that crossed the center line is reported as Austin Brown (20) from Fort Dodge, Iowa. The southbound Ford ECP SW was being driven by Joseph Reigelsberger (23) from Rolfe, Iowa. There was a single passenger in each car. Debra Lundt (57) was indicated to be in the Reigelsberger car and Anastashia Lundt (23) in the Brown GMC. The 57-year-old woman is shown to have died in the crash. She was seated in the rear left side. (Speed, lookout, control, due care and failing to adjust to the weather conditions all seem likely specifications of negligence.) Reports covered by Storm Lake Radio, KQWC Radio, The Fort Dodge Press and Q95 aka 95.7 FM Webster City.
