The CDC has reported that 13 people have become sick with salmonella in Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Pennyslvania.  The source of this outbreak has been linked to alfalfa sprouts.  No deaths have occurred, but five of the ill people have been hospitalized.  The first symptoms related to this particular outbreak began on December 1, 2015.  Local and state health officials tie the alfalfa sprouts to a company called Inman, Kansas-based Sweetwater Farms.  This company supplied the sprouts to five restaurants where the infection persons ate.  Sweetwater Farms has not responded to inquiries regarding this finding.
