We report about as many ATV accidents as we learn about. We do it because at one time the ATV manufacturers needed to be pushed by the legal community to make a safer vehicle. And while they have come a long way, we are still seeing too many fatal accidents. [In the days ahead we will report on another ATV accident leaving a young girl paralyzed from the waist down.] Many times what we see is a failure to properly supervise, although not always. In some accidents there is not much that can be done to avoid ... well, the unavoidable. Speed is often a key factor. And if adults are present speeds tend to come down dramatically.
ATV Accidents Are Preventable With Proper Supervision
I have followed ATV accidents as a lawyer for over thirty-five years and most of these accidents are preventable when three things are true. Proper training, supervision and the driver following the rules of what they learned.
