A wrestler who died in a van crash while in Iowa has suit filed by his mother. The student was a wrestler for York College and was in a van with ten wrestlers from a Nebraska college. He was from Kansas and was not wearing his seat belt. The wrester is Brock Pigorsch from Herington, Kansas. He was thrown from the van.

Mr. Lombardi will cover this more in his blog, The Verdict tomorrow.

YORK -- Information was still scarce as of press time, but the York News-Times was informed by York College sources that Brock Pigorsch, 21, a native of Herington, Kan., was tragically killed in an accident as the college wrestling team was on their way to an invite in Iowa.

EXCLUSIVE VIDEO REPORT

The Iowa State Patrol confirmed that an accident occurred north of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and that Life Flight services were required to transport a victim who later died of his injuries. As of press time, they were unable to release any further information, as the investigation into the crash was still underway.

Steddon Sikes with York College said that Pigorsch was a sophomore at the college.

According to the college's sports schedule, the wrestling team was on its way to the Red Raider Invitational in Orange City, Iowa, at Northwestern College.

Individuals at the college said that other wrestlers were injured, but none of them were in a life-threatening situation.

A prayer service was being organized at the college, last night, for students after the word of the tragedy spread across campus.

The News-Times was told that the victim's older brother, Brandon, is also a member of the wrestling team.

Sikes confirmed that a number of York College faculty members were on their way, last night, to bring the team back home to York College. He was unable to provide any further information, as the situation was unfolding.

The News-Times will bring more coverage of this tragic event, as it becomes available.
