Why does a driver pull out in front of Petticord’s motorcycle?

That is the question that will need to be answered, and quickly, in the case of 20-year-old Adam Pettiecord and the motorcycle crash that took his life last Wednesday in the 200 block of Northwest 66th Avenue in Des Moines.

The Des Moines Register reports the following:

The Polk County Sheriff's Office identified the victim as Adam Pettiecord, 20. ...

Officials said he was westbound when he collided with an eastbound minivan.

"It appeared the minivan had just started to pull out from a stop sign when the accident occurred," said Senior Deputy Jana Rooker, spokeswoman for the Polk County sheriff's office.

Why did he pull out from the stop sign and in front of Pettiecord? That is the question to be answered.
