Two injured in motorcycle crash

Two motorcyclists were injured in a collision that occurred late in the morning of Sunday May 4th on I-29 in Pottawattamie County at the junction with Interstate 680.  Lawrence James Clark, 57, of Asheboro, North Carolina  lost control of his motorcycle due to high winds.  He laid the motorcycle down.  The other motorcyclist, frank Ballard Hibbs, 69, also of Asheboro, was unable to avoid Mr. Clark and ran over him and the cycle.  Mr. Clark sustained minor injuries, but Mr. Hibbs’s were life threatening and he was airlifted to University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.  Both drivers were wearing helmets.  The investigation is ongoing.
