Two injured in jet ski accident

Two men were injured while jet-skiing on the Des Moines River west of Boone around 7 Pm Saturday, June 21.  Christian Whitney, 42, of Rippey, and Kevin Davis, 42, of Johnston, may have hit debris flowing in river, which was a foot above flood stage.  The accident occurred near the bridge over Old Highway 30/216th Drive.  The men were pulled out of the water by their comrades; they were part of a group of four out jet-skiing.  Mr. Whitney and Mr. Davis were taken to Mercy Medical Center.  A third man, Alexander Goodney, 30, of Ankeny, was arrested and charged with operating a boat while intoxicated.
