A teenager and a five year old were killed on Friday, September 5th, when the car they were riding in crashed into a semitrailer truck near Clarion. Dustin Shackelford was driving southbound on Ida Avenue with 3 passengers: his two children, Ayden, 5, and Chloe, 2, and Frankie Miranda, age 19.  The car collided with a semi driven by Travis Nickell, 27, at 140th Street, an uncontrolled intersection.  The car apparently struck the trailer wheel duals and became lodged under the semi.  Ayden, of Britt, and Mr. Miranda, of Katy, Texas, both died.  Chloe and Mr. Shackelford were hospitalized.  Mr. Nickell was not injured.  Of all the occupants of the car, only Mr. Shackelford was wearing a seat belt.
