Davenport firefighter, Capt. Bob Juarez only 43 fell 20 feet from a ladder suffering below waist paralysis. We’ve talked a lot about fall protection while working as a construction worker. What occurred last week to Capt. Bob Juarez, 43, while 20 feet up a ladder demonstrates the importance of fall protection. Falling just 20’ might in the abstract seem like a not too dangerous predicament, but in this instance it has resulted in below-the-waist paralysis. His medical care includes surgery and being on a ventilator. This firefighter, who is widely liked for his community service and involvement, is married with two children.
