Severe Vehicle Crashes Occur on Iowa Highways

Johnson County Crash Under Investigation

A single-car rollover accident leaves two injured on March 23 in Johnson County.  Justin Garrison of Fort Dodge, Iowa was driving north on I-380 when he lost control and his vehicle rolled over before landing in a ditch.  He and his passenger, Leah Lawrence of Iowa City, Iowa, both survived with injuries.  The accident is currently under investigation.

Car-Truck Crash on I-80 Causes Car to Rollover

Elizabeth Ann Brecht of Clive, Iowa was driving behind a truck driven by Gerald Weikel when she struck the trailer of his truck on March 19, 2013.  Ms. Brecht’s vehicle rolled and landed on its roof in the right land of I-80 in Cass County.  She was treated for injuries.  Mr. Weikel was not injured.

Highway 30 Crash in Benton County Under Investigation

Haleigh Hayes was driving west on highway 30 with two passengers, Trenton McCleary and Austin Kness, when she lost control and crossed the center line on March 18.  Ms. Hayes’ car spun into the eastbound lane and was rear-ended by another vehicle driven by Jacob Nolan.  All four parties were treated for injuries at University of Iowa Hospital.

Serious Two Car Crash on Highway 67 Leads to Injuries

Gary Dale Korver of Clinton, Iowa was driving north on Highway 67 when another vehicle, driven by Paul William Possehl and going south, lost control and crossed the center line.  Mr. Possehl’s vehicle struck Mr. Korver’s vehicle head-on, sending both vehicles into opposite directions.  Mr. Korver was also driving a passenger, Dorothy Korver.  All parties were transported to different hospitals to be treated for injuries.  The accident is under investigation.

Driver Passes Out But Survives Crash in Montgomery County

Bryant Hunter of Stanton, Iowa was driving east on Highway 34 on March 14 when he passed out for unknown reasons.  His vehicle entered the dividing ditch, crossed both lanes of the highway before landing in the ditch embankment on the other side.  Mr. Hunter was wearing his seat belt and was transported to a hospital in Red Oak for injuries.
