Road construction worker for PCI injured.

Posted on Sep 02, 2008

An Independence man, Hoolcom, was caught between forms as one set shifted and pinning him. He worked for PCI, the same as one of our other clients, causing him to be taken to the hospital. Work was being done on the Highway 63 overpass south of Highway 30.  His co-worker, Levi Bro was reported have been very helpful in trying to rescue him.

One of our clients had a similar mishap with prestressed hollow core concrete panels being lifted incorrectly, bending, breaking and causing him to fall. He lost his leg in that mishap. These are complicated matters which may involve a crane operator, another subcontracting crew that set the forms or a failure on the part of the GC to enforce safety on the site.

Be careful and adhere to safety rules.
