There are so many questions left unanswered that it's difficult to know where to begin.

Why was it necessary for him to be in the truck bed?
Who secured the motorcycle? Did he?
Who owned the bike?
Did the passenger own the bike?
Who owned the truck, was it the driver?
What allowed the bike to start falling from the truck?
Did the passenger fall due to getting caught in the straps or did he try to hold onto the bike?
At the time the bike started slipping what was the speed of the truck?
Was the roadway straight or curved at the point where the bike started slipping?
What were the lines of communication between the  driver and the rear passenger?
What was used ot secure the bike? Were there straps and were they hooked to the bed securely?

Like I said there are many questions remaining unanswered... and these are just a few.
