One killed, seven injured in Eastern Iowa crash

One man has died of injuries he suffered in a two-vehicle crash that injured seven other people on Sunday, July 27th in Washington County.  The crash occurred around 4:40 PM about two miles west of Washington on County Road G38.  Timothy Milligan, 21, of Montrose, was driving westbound and attempting to turn around in the roadway when the pickup he was driving was struck by a Ford Mustang driven by Craig Bartholomew, 37, of Washington.  The vehicles came to rest in the south ditch.  Dennis Albright, 46, of Washington, a passenger in the Mustang, was pronounced dead at the scene.  Mr. Bartholomew and a passenger in the pickup, Stephanie Wetterling, 21, were transported to Washington Hospital via ambulance.  Mr. Milligan and another of his passengers, Alexis Althar, 21, of Fort Madison, were transported to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Ms. Althar via air care.  Three more passengers in the pickup, all children who had been restrained in car seats, were hospitalized as well.
