Posted on May 15, 2014

A 71-year-old driver crashed a minivan into a house in Marion County on Tuesday May 6th.  The driver, Beverly Lee, was driving southbound on South Roche Street in Knoxville, but ran a stop sign at West Montgomery Street.  A truck driven by Michael Vickroy ran into the minivan, which ricocheted and hit a tree.  Ms. Lee then put the vehicle in reverse andcrashed, rear first, into the house at 113 West Montgomery.  Homeowner Pat Graves heard the crash and found the driver inside the vehicle, which was still running.  The driver refused transport to the hospital.  There was damage to the front porch of Mr. Graves’s house and to a stop sign, but no one was injured.  Ms. Lee will be cited for failure to obey a stop sign and failure to provide proof of current insurance.
