Unemployment benefits have been denied to a woman who was fired from her housekeeping job at a Waterloo hospital for taking a photo of a nude patient being treated in the hospital’s emergency room. Kimberly J. Niedert had worked at Covenant Medical Center for 15 years when she used her cellphone to take a photo of a naked female patient who did not know she was being photographed. Ms. Niedert was fired the next day. Two coworkers had witnessed the incident. Ms. Niedert had apparently also received warnings for stealing and dishonesty in the past, and once was accused of misappropriating forms used by physicians to provide patients excused absences from work.
