Massive fire destroyed house in Norwalk, damaged house next door

Posted on Apr 10, 2014

A Norwalk family lost their home at 415 Pine Avenue to fire in the early evening of Sunday, March 30th.  Chris and Graciela Mason were grilling outside when the fire broke out in their garage.  It spread quickly to the rest of the home, driven by the wind.  The family got their two children and golden retriever out of the house safely, but their cat did not make it.  The cause of the fire is undetermined.  The family’s insurance company has put them in a hotel for the next week, and a fund has been set up for the family at City State Bank at 801 Main Street in Norwalk.
