Johnson County, Iowa - Bicycle Blues in Iowa City - Two people riding a tandem bike were struck by a car attempting to turn into a driveway in Iowa City, Iowa at 3018 Prairie Du Chien Road north of Iowa City. The SUV was a 1996 Chevrolet Tahoe being driven by 39-year-old Justin Meade of North Liberty. The bicycle riders are Kristin and Todd Spacek (40) from Coralville and Iowa City. The bike riders left the scene by ambulance and headed to University of Iowa Hospitals.

The Tahoe is driving southbound and the bike is coming from the south heading north. The setting sun wouldn't help make the bike or the riders stand out with a silhouette.
