I have wonder if the motorcyclist's death near Gravity is Iowa's first of many. There aren't many details being released so we don't know if a helmet would have saved his life. I agree you can't say helmets are a complete cure; but then again they are in some instances. Should everyone be required to wear one? Probably going to stay an individual preference.

Is this 2010's first death by motorcycle?

Gravity, Iowa - A 70-year-old man, Larry Turpen from Clarinda is reported to have lost control of his motorcycle causing his bike to leave the hard surface at 202nd Street and Hillcrest Avenue near Gravity. He died in the ensuing collision. He was driving a 2008 Harley Davidson Motorcycle. He was not wearing a helmet although there is no indication whether a helmet would have saved his life.

Is there anything I can do to settle my health problems after an accident? Hit by car on bike, no treatment, and no police. Now shoulder hurts any recourse? This is not a hit and run, he paid for the damage to my bike, and I agreed he could do it out of pocket because it was less than his deductible and I thought I was fine. That night he gave me a ride home and did admit he did not look my way. He also loaned me a wheel for my bike which I did not use. He paid me with a check for the damage.
