Posted on Apr 24, 2009
A collision on I-380 in Linn County, Iowa demonstrates negligence in the form of failing to maintain control of the driver’s vehicle. Iowa State Patrol investigated a crash that wrecked two vehicles on I-380. An Iowa City man and another from Cedar Rapids collided on the interstate.
The Iowa State Patrol reports 57-year-old Tony Hines of Cedar Rapids attempted to merge into a lane after passing 26-year-old Christopher Kaufmann of Iowa City.
The roll over caused Chris Kaufmann to rollover and led to him being injured. Des Monies has many accidents like this as does Iowa in general.
If Kaufmann can prove that Hine’s attempt to change lanes was done when it wasn’t clear then he has proven Hine was negligent. Because to change lanes when it’s not clear, unsafe, is to prove a negligent act. This accident was covered by KWWL.
