Hip Implant Concerns Reached 16,800 in a Decade, FDA says

The FDA reports that there has been a huge increase in the number of complaints filed regarding metal-on-metal hip implants, totaling 12,137 for metal-on-metal implants in 2011 alone. The adverse reports have increased since Johnson and Johnson began recalling ASR hip devices in 2010 – 93,000 worldwide and 37,000 in the U.S.
