Highway 52 Accident - Simon and Iverson

Car accident near Guttenberg, Iowa leaves one dead and three in the hospital. The one car crossed the center line and will likely be found at fault or negligent.

“The accident was reported about 3:10 p.m. on the highway just south of Highway 128.

Troopers said a car driven by Lyle S. Iverson, 88, of Rock Island, Ill., was southbound on Highway 52 when a northbound car driven by Elizabeth R. Simon, 25, of Guttenberg, crossed the center line and the two collided.

Iverson was pronounced dead at the scene.

Simon and two passengers, Tammy L. Allbee, 38, of Guttenberg, and Nathan D. Scherbring, 27, of Garnavillo, were injured.“
