This March has been unseasonably warm making conditions perfect for taking out your neighbor’s motorcycle of their kid’s moped. That means the roads will see earlier cycle as well as bicycle activity adding to the already busy roads on Iowa’s streets, highways, avenues and lanes. Which means Iowa’s personal injury lawyers will get busy early and stay busy through the fall. Already we have in the news several accidents and a death.
In Coralville 28-year-old Johnathan Hintz died after being involved in a crash on Highway 6. (The Daily Iowa, DI Staff article.) Then in Waterloo a 76 year-old, Robert Leatherman died from injuries suffered when his scooter collided with a car when police apparently concluded he ran a red light striking another car in the intersection. He suffered head and chest injuries. (The updated stories can be read at Update: 2 dead in separate Waterloo crashes Sunday, by Jeff Reinitz.)
Remember one thing when riding that bike, motorcycle, moped or scooter, we are not bulletproof. Read ABATE’s comment on Barhopperchallenge.com.
