Josh Miller reportedly was not wearing his seat belt and failed to yield to an oncoming train. Donald Ahlhelm, the train operator drove the train's engine right into the 2005 Nissan Titan as it pulled across the tracks and in front of the train. Now I will say that most cities and towns have ordinances that require the train engineer to sound the train horn three times as they approach an intersection. It might be interesting to know if that was the law in Bremer County and whether it was done in this instance. The Iowa State patrol didn’t issue the train operator a ticket but you never know. Here is how the ISP reported it: The Waverly Democrat reported this to be a rare occurrence in Bremer County. Here is what a car looked like after driving into a train. Last I checked trains don't move when cars come into contact with them.
