Couple Dies in Hornick Collision

Mark Crowl, 73, and Kay Crowl, 70, both of Hornick died due to injuries they suffered in a collision on Sunday, August 21st at around 8:15 p.m. The Crowl’s were traveling east on Old Highway 141 when a second vehicle, driven by Shayna Schelm, 17, of Hornick, drifted into their lane as she prepared to turn onto 300th Street. The two vehicles collided and the Crowl’s were airlifted to Mercy. Mark Crowl died shortly after impact, and Kay died from her injuries on Thursday. Schelm was transported via ambulance with minor injuries.
