Corn Mill Accident in Cedar Rapids Leads to One Death

Two workers at a corn mill for Archer Daniels Midland Co. were found unconscious on Wednesday, January 2.  Officials say the men were in an oxygen-deficient environment that caused their condition, and led to the death of one of the workers.  The other worker survived and was treated at a local hospital. A second news report indicates they were preparing a fermentation tank for maintenance before the accident. A third news report on KCRG, TV-9 identified Jon Usher, 50-years-old and an ADM employee since 2006.
