Company seeks to find employment for some federal workers’ compensation recipients.

Posted on Jan 04, 2014

A new company promotes a partnership between OWCP, Women Impacting Public Policy (a group of women active in business), the Department of Homeland Security, and private industry to find jobs that match the skills and abilities of persons currently receiving federal workers’ compensation benefits.

As an incentive, the federal government will agree to subsidize the wages of the employee (up to 75%), for up to three years.  A vocational counselor will work with the employee and new employer for up to 60 days to ease the transition into the new position.  The webpage allows prospective employers to advertise positions.
