Appanoose County, Iowa Crossing the Center Line Crash

News from Appanoose County, Iowa on Highway 2 – An accident reported by KTVO has a woman crossing the center line after swerving to avoid striking a truck turning into a driveway. This is a case based on fault and driven by a failure to maintain a proper lookout, driving with due care and driving at a proper speed. Unfortunately the driver died.
“According to the Appanoose County Sheriff's Office, around 2 p.m. Friday afternoon, Myra Vandermark, of Mystic, was driving a Ford Contour westbound on Highway 2, when her vehicle hit a Hyundai Sonata in the eastbound lane, occupied by Thomas Twohill and Janan Twohill, of Fairfield.
An eyewitness told law enforcement that Vandermark swerved into the eastbound lane to avoid crashing into the back of a truck that was turning right into a driveway.”
