I believe if the settlement is under $9k or $10k, can't recall right off the top of my head; then no conservatorship is required. Why the hospital would be saying they can't get paid until the case is settled isn't very clear. If you have health insurance covering your son then it should pay without waiting for any settlement. Is your son represented by a lawyer? If not why not? If he is why isn't the lawyer answering these questions?

My son was in a car accident and we settle for 3200. They are saying that they have to go to court so his money can be put into a special account until he is 18 which is nov this year. My question is the hospital is hurting my credit and they are saying that they cannot be pay until his settlement is over.
