If my son breaks his hand and is admitted to the hospital for a "few" days, what are my options for time off work?

A:

You could ask for unpaid time off. If you're a union member ask your union representative. Otherwise there is no law that I'm aware of allowing you some mechanism to force your employer to allow time off. You may have to get a relative or friend to sit in with him at the hospital. Not every problem has a legal solution.
