Many VW owners don’t seem to care, at least not right now. So will they ever care and if so when?
I’m guessing they will care, but by the time they do care it will be too late. About the time they try selling their car or truck and find out the resale value is a lot less than they expected, then they will care. They will call us complaining and asking for a solution that doesn’t take more than a week to accomplish. When they find out there is no 15-minute solution, they will get mad, hang up the phone call another lawyer. The lawyers they call will give them similar advice and the VW owners will blame it on the lawyers and then bite the bullet and sell at a discount.
The VW dealers will then add a software patch, wash their car and sell it at a hefty premium. The dealers have to be drooling thinking about the money they will make.
As P.T. Barnum was quoted as having said, “There is a sucker born every minute.”
And if you think the EPA will help you, the owner, think again. After the EPA gets its settlement dollars they couldn't care less about the VW owners.
