An error in the processing of tuna products produced by Chicken of the Sea and Bumble Bee are being recalled across the country. 34,000 cases of the contaminated products are affected by this recall. No reports have been received of customers becoming ill, but the companies have reason to believe that the sterlization process of the food containers was not done properly and led to contamination of the tuna with harmful or deadly pathogens. The companies and the FDA are working to remove the product from shelves and notify customers to dispose of any products already purchased.
Customers of Bumble Bee products may call the company at 888-820-1947 with concerns.
Customers of Chicken of the Sea products may call the company at 866-600-2681 with concerns.
