The report is of a 17-year-old female driving with an alcohol limit more than three times the legal limit of 0.8 getting in a head-on collision and dying as a result. What's interesting is that following the crash the police in Woodbury County discovered the identity of a man they allege provided her with the alcohol. What most people don't appreciate is that in Iowa the decedent's estate or her parents don't really have a way to successfully sue the man. Read the article for what there is and keep in mind at this point nothing has been proven, the charges are based on allegations only. [Deceased driver is Mary Hughes, of Salix, Iowa.]
