Single Rollover Accident - Passenger died

Our next accident is one personal injury lawyers see quite often on Highway 218, when a driver is distracted and veers slightly to one direction causing the car to drop off the side of the pavement, then the driver panics, over steers and overturns the car. Apparently the passenger died. In this case it’s not possible to say if the driver was distracted because she is not a younger person who you’d expect to be distracted by a cell phone and there is another passenger in the car so it’s not likely the case, but the sequence of events leading up to the rollover is familiar nonetheless.

NARRATIVE

VEHICLE NUMBER ONE WAS SOUTHBOUND ON HIGHWAY 218. VEHICLE NUMBER ONE DROPPED OFF ONTO THE WEST SHOULDER. THE DRIVER STEERED TO THE LEFT AND RETURNED TO THE ROADWAY. THE DRIVER COUNTER STEERED TO THE RIGHT AND ENTERED THE WEST DITCH. VEHICLE NUMBER ONE ROLLED AND CAME TO REST ON ITS TOP FACING EAST.
