Should I, as a lawyer, expect the plumber to fix my leaky pipes for free?
Here is the question: What monetary value along with apologies can I get on oral defamation/slander?
There is a certain part of this question that irks me. It’s asking for the benefit of my education, experience and skills for free. And why would you think a lawyer should just give you their opinion for nothing? Why is it acceptable to ask a lawyer for free advice about the value of your case? What do you do for a living? If you were a plumber would it be alright for me to ask you to fix my sink without getting paid? If not, then why is it alright to ask lawyers to work for nothing?
My advice is simple, hire a lawyer and then follow their advice.
