Rolling Stop Proves Deadly in Grundy County Iowa Accident

According to the report a semi-truck driver rolled through a stop sign at County Road D55 at the intersection of T29. A van being driven by Steven Humphrey, 43 of Oelwein was broadsided and he was ejected, injured and died from injuries received in the collision. Accidents like this are preventable if a full stop is respected. Rolling through a stop sign is likely to be considered negligence. Negligence is fault and in turn it creates liability to the estate of Steven Humphrey. The owner of the truck as well as the driver who commits a rolling stop can be significant. Safe driving never takes a back seat while on the road.
