Des Moines Police were investigating a pedestrian-read grader accident on SW 9th Street. Apparently, Antonio Sanchez-Peck was crossing the street from Lincoln High School, which appears to be store 31 at 2601 SW 9th Street, Des Moines this past Thursday, March 9th, 2017. The pedestrian was killed.

KCCI-Channel 8 has a story, with this quote.

UPDATE: Teen killed after being struck by road grader

It does not appear that Des Moines PD called the ISP to investigate this accident.

People being interviewed were quick to blame this 16-year-old boy, but that’s not proper until you’ve investigated the accident. Driving by schools drivers often see and encounter students with their minds wandering about school work, tests or after-school activities. Seems to me sounding the road grader’s horn may have gotten this young man’s attention.
