Pit bulls and vicious dog breeds causing personal injury in Iowa

Is it time to finally outlaw pit bulls? On September 19th Joyce Haynes heard a child screaming and ran outside to see a pit bull charging a child. When she attempted to intervene the dog turned on her going after her legs biting her calves and taking a sizeable piece of flesh.

A second neighbor came to her rescue using a bike to shield himself from the dog while getting it away from Miss Haynes. She will have permanent scars from the attack both physically and I will assume mentally as well. The real question is where was the owner? In today’s day in age with all the education and information on the dangers of dogs such as pit bulls how could this possibly happen? The owner of the dog will no doubt be getting a hefty bill from the hospital but will there bill criminal charges? What would have happened if the dog had gotten ahold of the child and killed it? More needs to be done to protect every day citizens from out of control dog owners with egos that say owning a vicious dog is somehow a good idea. The pit bull owners and the Taser people have one thing in common; they see the U.S. Constitution as a document protecting only them.

This is a subject I've covered in other posts.

Sure is funny because the night of the insodent there was only one oficer involved. Acording to his original statement made to me first on the scene Cody Pendleton, he had stated the dog chased me out of the yard as soon as i was out of the yard the dog went into the backyard and layed down. The dog had not bitten anyone only barcked. When animal control showed up they were unable to contain the dog in his own backyard, the gates were closed. Therefore the oficer sought it nesisary to unload two rounds of buckshot into the barley knee high dog. This is were it gets funny. From where he said he shot the dog the shells were over ten feet away. Yet after two presice shots from the highly trained oficer the knee high dog still left a distinct eight foot blood trail. Before the night was over aprocsamatly six oficers spent four hours coming up with the story that was published, making the oficers heros who barley survived a viscious dog attack. I will freely speack of the coruption of the DMPD now that I no longfr reside in DesMoines. Matter of fact my five and six year old children frequently played unattended with this "viscious dog". They shed many tears to hear that their beloved dog was maliciosly atacked and killed by cowerdace police oficers.

Large Damage, Major-Serious Injury and Death Cases

When the negligent or at-fault driver dies will their insurance still pay for the other driver’s injuries?

Can a child be sued when he shoots another hunter?

Do I have to cover someone's medical bills if I accidentally caused an injury? The guys hand was broke now we have to pay for the surgery and everything else. I offered that day to take him to get his hand x-rayed. He declined and then two days later took himself to the ER and found out it was broken then had to have surgery to put pins in it. I offered to help pay and have paid him $300 so far. Now his next bill he wants me to pay is $1030 and that doesn't included surgery bills yet. He said he will sue me if I don't pay all of his bills. When is enough enough?
