Motorcycles - Driver who was charged with texting and driving reportedly pleads
I’ve covered this accident and many more of a similar nature; texting while driving is not a good idea. When lawyers read about these cases, or have clients who have either died or are injured, from someone texting while driving, we just shake our heads because we are seeing way too many of them. In some ways I feel for the driver, as well as the lady on the motorcycle that died in the crash. Notice the citations that were written in this case – texting while driving and driving left of center. It’s that driving left of center that really bothers me. I can’t drive down the road without seeing it happen even in West Des Moines. When I drive to Waterloo or Davenport or Omaha or anyplace else I can’t help but see cars going over the center line and wondering if it’s someone texting. Driving distracted is a national epidemic. So stop already. Pay attention to your driving and put the phone down. If you can’t stop yourself, put the phone in the back seat.
