Local car accidents resulting in serious injury

A crash occurred in Johnson County on October 24, 2010

UNIT 1 WAS TRAVELING IN THE LEFT NB LANE ON I-380. UNIT 2 WAS TRAVELING IN THE LEFT SB LANE ON I-380. UNIT 1 WAS OVER STEERED TO THE LEFT, BEGAN TO ROTATE COUNT ...

This is a two-vehicle accident where one car overcorrects and ends up losing control; then crashes into a car coming the opposite direction. What would be interesting to know is why the driver of the at-fault vehicle had to correct with the steering wheel.

UNIT 1 WAS TRAVELING IN THE LEFT NB LANE ON I-380. UNIT 2 WAS TRAVELING IN THE LEFT SB LANE ON I-380. UNIT 1 WAS OVER STEERED TO THE LEFT, BEGAN TO ROTATE COUNTERCLOCKWISE,TRAVELED THROUGH THE MEDIAN AND STRUCK UNIT 2' S LEFT SIDE.

A crash occurred in Hardin County on October 24, 2010

VEHICLE 1 WAS EAST BOUND ON HIGHWAY 20. THE DRIVER OF VEHICLE 1 FELL ASLEEP AND HIT THE GUARD RAIL IN THE MEDIAN.

This is a one-vehicle collision and the driver simply fell asleep at the wheel and crashed into a guard rail in the median.

A crash occurred in Cedar County on October 24, 2010

UNIT 1 WAS TRAVELING WESTBOUND ON INTERSTATE 80 AT MILEPOST 255. UNIT 1 LOST CONTROL JACK KNIFED AND ENTERED THE NORTH DITCH DAMAGING THE GUARD RAIL.

This is a single tractor trailer accident case where the driver loses control, allegedly and jackknifes the tractor and trailer.
