Warren County, Iowa - We have a 75 year old woman [Marjorie Bees] driving a 2009 Nissan Cube approaching the intersection of Royal Crest and N. Jefferson in Indianola, Iowa. Khampha Khamboun from Des Moines, 43 years old, is driving his Harley Davidson motorcycle in the same direction, southbound on Jefferson. Khamboun stops but Bees does not. She rear-ends his motorcycle and as a result he is killed. But see below and read the trooper’s description of the accident. One has to wonder why traffic lights installed for some reason were not functioning. Why weren’t the traffic lights functioning? Would it have made any difference since the accident happened in daylight?
