Iowa Wrong-way Highway 5 Accident

Not just another day because we have another wrong-way driver case in Iowa. Hardly believable for me is that this is I believe the 4^th case in less than a two-year time. Little old sparsely populated Iowa and here we go again.  Wow, this is getting serious. What's going on out there?

I've been writing about these cases now for over three years, have reported on thousand's of wrong-way events, collisions, accidents, deaths and whatever's - have even come up with common threads as to what facts seem important. If you asked me three years ago how many wrong-way interstate accidents occurred I would have told you rarely, but that's not true. They are far too common not just here in Iowa, but in every state in the union and across Europe. At the end of this blog I'll again add my lists of common threads along with the most recent news reports. This isn't all the most recent news reports. Briefly, the latest one was in Warren County Friday morning on Highway 5 and involved a Chevy Tahoe SUV, a semi-truck and a motorcyclist. I couldn't think of a worse mix of vehicles for a wrong-way collision. Welcome to Iowa, a surprising place to live. WHO covered the story.
