Iowa winter car accidents with snow and ice covered roads

I’m not sure what was going on with the weather conditions on the western edge of Iowa, but Pottawattamie County sure got its share. In this accident the start of what would later be collisions starts on the opposite side of Interstate 80. The interstate highways in Iowa can get really crazy when the weather turns bad; making it necessary to watch both sides, but especially what’s coming ahead of you.

VEHICLE #1 WAS WEST BOUND ON I 80 AND FOR AN UNKNOWN REASON THE DRIVER LOST CONTROL AND ENTERED THE MEDIAN. AS VEHICLE #1 ENTERED THE MEDIAN IT ROTATED COUNTER CLOCK WISE AND CAME UP ONTO THE EAST BOUND LANES OF I 80. VEHICLE #1 WAS THEN STRUCK ON THE DRIVERS SIDE T-BONE STYLE BY EAST BOUND VEHICLE #2. VEHICLE #1 THEN SPUN AROUND AFTER CONTACT AND CAME TO REST INT THE MEDIAN FACING SOUTH. AFTER IMAPACT VEHICLE #2 CROSSED THE MEDIAN AND CAME TO REST IN THE LEFT LANE OF WEST BOUND I 80. THE DRIVER OF VEHICLE #1 WAS PRONOUNCED DEAD AT THE SCENE. THE DRIVER OF VEHICLE #2 WAS UNINJURED.

That’s enough for today, but come back tomorrow to read The Verdict blog/blawg at Lombardi Law Firm or posts on the The Iowa Edict, where I will discuss other personal injury accidents in Iowa. And as always if you are in an accident and need legal services we encourage you to call us sooner, rather than later. We aren't very good at putting toothpaste back into the tube. So let's work together to make your case prep work for you.

I work with lawyers from across the country who handle accidents on either Interstate 35 or 80.  These cases may require more than one lawyer because of the multi-state jurisidiction issues. We worked out details ahead of time so your case can move ahead without delay. So call us if we can help you.  515-222-1110 or 800-383-0331 or sdlombardi@aol.com. We cooperate with lawyers who have clients injured in Iowa. So call us.
