Iowa State Patrol Fatality Reports for Saturday, October 23, 2010

Every Saturday this law firm posts the current Iowa State Patrol fatality and injury report list so our out-of-state clients and potential clients have access to the latest word from the Iowa State Patrol. Crash: There are only three new fatality accident reports from the Iowa State Patrol this week. That's a manageable number so let's have at it. I'll cover them in three different posts, due to length.

Minimal Reports

A crash occurred in Mitchell County on October 19, 2010

THE GARBAGE TRUCK WAS BACKING SOUTH ON FIFTH STREET AND MADE
CONTACT WITH ROGERS WHO WAS WALKING, ASSISTED BY OSAGE PD,
MITCHELL CO SHERIF DEPT, OSAGE F ...

In this accident we have what appears to be a garbage truck backing up and striking a pedestrian. The pedestrian was 76 year old Marvin Rogers. This fatal accident took place at 5th and Vine in Osage. Expience tells me the rub will be whether the garbage truck had a working rear warning device versus the elderly gentleman's ability hear. Here is Trooper McNall's description.
