Iowa PI Accident Lawyer Analysis: Hazen and Hansen

In this failure to maintain control case we have one car crossing the center line and colliding with a second one. The first lost control when for some reason it’s described as going onto the shoulder, overcorrecting, losing control and veering over the other side into oncoming traffic only to collide with the Marti Hansen vehicle, described as a 1990 Ford RNG PK. Marti appears to be 20-years of age and the other driver, Curtis Hazen appears to be 18. Hazen is from Magnolia and Hansen from Missouri Valley, Iowa. The Trooper cited Hazen for violating Iowa Code section 321.288 for a failure to maintain control. This can be an indication of negligence in any claim.

Narrative: DRIVER #1 ADVISED WENT OFF ONTO RIGHT SHOULDER, OVERCORRECTED, AND WENT ACROSS NORTHBOUND LANE. DRIVER #2 WAS NORTHBOUND AND TRIED TO AVOID #1, BUT IMPACTED #1 IN THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR. VEHICLES CAME TO REST AGAINST THE GUARDRAIL.
