Iowa Personal Injury News for April 21, 2012

A two-vehicle head-on collision on US 61in Des Moines County, Iowa resulted in one death (Patrick Gray) and the other driver being injured (Michael Delaney). I have clients that live in West Point so I’m somewhat familiar with the country roads in that area. It’s a beautiful part of Iowa, but can lead some real bad accidents. The Trooper (Andreasen, 161) conducted the investigation and ordered blood tests for a drug and alcohol screen. The time of the accident was 6:20 a.m. on April 17, 2012 and literal described as NB/EB US 61 Mile #34.85. The narrative follows next and as you can see the one car, a Ford Focus, came across the center line and impacted the front of the Delaney Minivan. The speed limit on this stretch of roadway is 65 miles per hour. There is no description as to what the one driver may have done to avoid the accident or how much time he may have had to stop or slow way down.
