Iowa Construction Worker Accidental Death

The report of the injury and death of Michael Birdsell of Sioux City, Iowa was on KTIV.com, Siouxland's News. The description is of him working on a piece of equipment and getting caught in the auger causing severe injuries that resulted in death. He is reported to be 23-year-old Michael Birdsell. Here is a quote from the article. 
Officials with the Sioux City Police say Michael Birdsell of Sioux City, was working on a piece of machinery for a private contractor at W. 8th and Wesley Way around 8:30 a.m. In all likelihood his injury and death will lead to a workers' compensation claim and a third-party claim is possible also not guaranteed. If he was single and had no dependents it's a different case then if he was married and/or has dependents. Dependents can be a spouse, children or a dependent relative, like a mother. We used to see more auger cases but the industry started doing what they should have done from the beginning and started protecting the spinning shafts; a welcomed safety feature.
