It’s Monday, the weekend is all but a memory and we are back to the grind of our working weeks. Let’s take a few minutes to see what the Register and KCCI are reporting about personal injury accidents in Iowa. The Des Moines register reported about the Boone fatality case that I blogged about on Saturday, the Powell collision. There was a six-car crash on I-235 in the westbound lanes shortly after 5:40 on the evening of January 7, 2011.

Iowa Car Accidents for mid-January 2011

It's Monday, the weekend is all but a memory and we are back to the grind of our working weeks. Let's take a few minutes to see what the Register and KCCI are reporting about personal injury accidents in Iowa.

The Des Moines register reported about the Boone fatality case that I blogged about on Saturday, the Powell collision. There was a six-car crash on I-235 in the westbound lanes shortly after 5:40 on the evening of January 7, 2011.

A woman was found after a house fire; and it's reported she is deceased. In an earlier story the same house fire is noted. There is another house fire in the Spirit Lake area and an 82-year-old woman was discovered. Perhaps our first reaction is to think she died in the fire, but that may or may not be true. The cause of death will have to await the results from the autopsy.

The reported 2010 traffic fatalities are "relatively low" according to a story on January 4, 2011. It appears there were 391 in Iowa during 2010.

A West Des Moines care accident took the life of Shawn Elmore (43) when he struck a utility pole and then knocked out power to homes and businesses for over an hour.

The cause of the fire remained undetermined in the fire related investigation in Arlington. This is the mobile home fires earlier discussed in another blog. See also "Man, 2 grandsons die in trailer blaze near Arlington."

And let's see what KCCI is reporting in the manner of personal injury accidents. It's been some time since I've checked in on KCCI's site.

And on the KCRG site we have several interesting headlines about personal injury.

Can I file a lawsuit regarding racial discrimination? Two days ago an assistant manager at my workplace made a comment about my race saying to me hey Hispanic guy no I mean hey you (profane word) Mexican! I guess he was trying to joke with me when I have never made any type of racial remark to him periodically. Is it possible to file for a lawsuit about this if I haven't told management yet or recorded the time it took place or exact words there was a coworker that witnessed the altercation.

Can my 6 year old get compensation for a hotel injury? We stayed at a hotel. My son got shocked and burned on his fingertip from a table lamp on/off switch. The hotel said the fuse box had a burn out. So that might have caused it. The insurance company offered $500. Should I take it? Or can I get more?

How do I start the process to sue huge company? Want to sue a huge company for negligence but have no idea how to start the ball rolling.
