Interstate Highway Mystery – Where did that body come from?

Shelton, Nebraska – Buffalo County - I-80 collision between two semi-trucks leaving one driver dead. After jackknifing in the westbound lane of Interstate 80 a second semi-truck also in the westbound lane collided with it, killing the driver of the jackknifed semi-truck. It’s reported to have occurred around 4:48 a.m. on Monday, January 25, 2010. The driver of the second truck is a 49-year-old man from Altoona, Iowa. He was hospitalized in Kearney, Nebraska at the Good Samaritan Hospital. Nebraska Highway Patrol investigated along with the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office. Janesville, Iowa – U.S. Highway 218 – This crash is between a pickup truck and a school van from the Janesville Community School District around 7:30 a.m. on February 5, 2010. The collision location is at the West Gresham Road exit. Both vehicles were traveling south and the pickup truck rear-ended the school van. Two occupants of the van were taken to the hospital.

Roseville, California - I-80 – In the westbound lane of I-80 the body of a Roseville woman was found sprawled out, she had expired. This is a very strange or odd “accident”. The officer, Montijo with described details as “sketchy” and he could see no car associated with the woman. The collision described may be a hit-n-run or there could be another explanation. It was being investigated at 4:25 a.m. on February 4, 2010 near the Eureka Road onramp. The report is by KNCO. I did some checking and found a follow-up story from the next day, February 5, 2010. Jeremy Sam Sarguis, 21-year-old man turned himself into the North Sacramento Police Department. The woman was identified as Vickie Janelle Scott, 47-years-old. Interesting twist with this one is that the woman it seems had been to a casino was on seen by a county sheriff’s deputy from Placer County at around 2:00 to 2:30 who offered to get her a ride, she declined and nothing else appears to have been done. What seems odd is the location of the woman at the time the deputy spoke with her seems to be I-80. Why would a law enforcement officer allow a pedestrian to continue on foot along or on an Interstate highway? Of all highways to be walking on why I-80?
