In some accidents, there is no one to exchange information

I saw this story about the teenager dying in a car accident and wondered about the cause. There are two stories; one link gives you a redirect notice to this link. It was a young lady from Sheldon, Iowa whose car lost control, skidded across the center line and hit a semi-truck head-on. The photo shows the car, and it's a total loss. Another photo is at this link. It appears to be a convertible because even though there is snow and ice on the road surface the top is gone.

In the second accident near DeWitt the photographs show a semi-truck cab that is almost completely unrecognizable. I see the link below is from a site that has no presence in Iowa.

In the Sorensen-Garner accident on Highway 30 I get a kick out of the title. Last I checked blowing snow couldn't drive, so how can it cause a fatal accident? Can't. It's that simple. Only human error can cause and accident. Drive too fast, without due care for the conditions and without a proper lookout. Sorry folks but that's it. And really if the conditions are so bad that snow is blinding the driver then the driver needs to stop, pull off the road and wait it out or just don't leave the house. It's really that simple.
